The parade will start at the Western Lawns as before and finish at Princes Park with more than 25,000 spectators expected to cheer the 50 plus floats and 1,500 walkers along the seafront.
For the first time, the carnival will also include a street market that is being organised by Eastbourne Chamber of Commerce, as well as family entertainment in Princes Park from the early afternoon with fair rides, bouncy castle and an outdoor big screen showing a movie, after the Carnival finishes. Stephen Lloyd, President of the Eastbourne Sunshine Carnival, said: "I am absolutely delighted Legal & General has agreed, yet again, to step up and support our wonderful Sunshine Carnival. The event is now in its 5th year and L&G have been with us almost from the very beginning! I know it’s going to be another fantastic event with many thousands of local people either taking part or coming along to watch. When I was Eastbourne’s MP I was absolutely determined to bring the Sunshine Carnival back after it had stopped fifteen years before, and with the support of the superb Carnival Committee, all our brilliant volunteer Marshalls, the sponsors Legal & General, the Carnival participants and, most importantly, you, local residents, who have taken the event to its heart, it continues to grow successfully. Thank you all for stepping up and see you on Saturday the 11th of June.” Anyone who would like to enter the event, or volunteer to be a steward should visitwww.eastbournecarnival.co.uk
